The Gifford Adult Day Program provides seniors and disabled adults day care services, helping them remain in their homes longer and providing needed respite to home caregivers.
Often called a “best kept secret” in long-term care, the program is individually structured for each participant and offers music, arts and crafts, discussion groups, exercise and spiritual services while taking care of each client’s medical, physical and social needs. Staffed by a warm and enthusiastic team of nurses and licensed nursing assistants, the program provides medication management and medical supervision, baths, nail care and other personal hygiene help. Multi-course, restaurant-quality meals are provided by Gifford’s professional chefs and transportation is available through primarily Stagecoach. Most importantly, the program provides participants a safe alternative to the isolation many face at home.
Open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Adult Day is located on the ground floor of the Bethel Health Center on Route 107. The program is cost-effective with hourly program fees and financial assistance through Medicaid and Medicare, as well as a sliding fee scale to qualified participants.
Call the Adult Day Program at (802) 234-2165 to learn how you or your loved one can get involved.
