Menig Extended Living Facility

The Menig Extended Care Facility is an award-winning 30-bed, non-profit nursing home. Opened in 1998 following the closure of Tranquility Nursing Home in Randolph, Menig was founded with a generous gift from the late Howard and Gladys Menig of Braintree. The only nursing home in all of Orange County, Menig got its start as a 20-bed facility, but expanded in 2006 to help meet the high demand for local nursing home care. Today, Menig is a spacious nursing home with skilled and caring nursing and activities staff members, who treat residents like family and provide them a safe and rich home experience.

The activities offered to residents are vast, filling the day with fun and socialization.

Spacious rooms are furnished and include a television set and telephone. Restaurant-quality meals are prepared by Gifford’s professional chefs using local foods whenever possible and served hot and fresh. The dining room looks out onto a stunning courtyard garden filled with perennials in bloom throughout the warm weather months. There are benches for seating, a gazebo and awning for shade, birdfeeders, a grill for barbecues and a raised bed for gardening. Baths are taken in whirlpool tubs and residents exit to the comfort of warmed towels. There is a full service beauty shop onsite and the home’s impressive living room offers space for both quiet times and large gatherings.

This high-quality care has been recognized by residents and families, the state and nationally. Awards for Menig include:

  • 2013 Best Nursing Homes, U.S. News and World Report
  • 2012 Honor Roll, U.S. News and World Report (a recognition given to only 39 nursing homes nationally receiving four straight quarters of five-star rankings in all categories evaluated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services)
