RANDOLPH, Aug. 17, 2007 The Menig Extended Care Facility at Gifford Medical Center is raising money to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association through a Memory Walk to be held Sept. 22 in Randolph.

The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research. Since 1989, the Memory Walk has raised more than $225 million nationally to help those battling Alzheimer's disease.

Menig has raised money for the Alzheimer’s Association in the past, but this is the first year it is holding an Alzheimer Memory Walk. All are welcome to participate. Walkers collect donations or pledges from friends and family to raise money for the cause.

Sign-in for the two-mile Randolph Alzheimer Memory Walk begins at 9 a.m. on Sept. 22 near Gifford Medical Center’s new visitors’ entrance south of the hospital on Route 12. Walkers will make a loop through Randolph village and then return to the hospital.

Register online at http://www.kintera.org/FAF/home/default.asp?ievent=246321 or by calling Menig Activities Director Terry MacDougal at (802) 728-2130.
