RANDOLPH, Aug. 20, 2007 – Life with Diabetes classes begin in September at Gifford Medical Center.
The classes are an opportunity for those living with diabetes to learn self-management techniques, including nutrition, coping, glucose monitoring, exercise and medication options.
The 10-hour course is recognized by the American Diabetes Association and offered by Gifford’s team of experts – diabetes nurse educators Sherry Barnard and Cindy Richardson, dietitians Jennifer Stratton and pharmacist Jane McConnell.
For the convenience of participants, two courses on different days and times are being offered simultaneously. Classes will be held on Mondays Sept. 10-Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to noon and also on Wednesdays from Sept. 12-Oct. 10 from 5-7 p.m. Participants are encouraged to pick a day and time that work best for them.
