RANDOLPH 6/27/07 – Joe Voci of Randolph Center has joined Gifford Medical Center as its new director of plant operations. Voci comes to Gifford from the town of Randolph, where he worked as director of public works.
Renowned for his work in Randolph, Voci now oversees Gifford’s maintenance, bioengineering and housekeeping departments, filling Theron Manning’s former role.
After more than 35 years with Gifford, Manning has transitioned to the position of Strategic Projects Director.
Voci says he came to Gifford for the opportunity work with Manning, for a new challenge and because of the hospital’s reputation as an employer.
“It’s a really wonderful place to work. The people are really nice,” Voci said of the hospital where he was born.
Vice President of Operations Margie Judd called Voci an “invaluable” addition to Gifford’s team.
He spent more than five years with the town of Randolph as water and wastewater superintendent and chief operator, then director of public works and even filled in as interim town manager. He previously was a regional manager with Simon Operations Services of Waterbury Center for three years, a role that had him working with the town of Randolph and many others on water and wastewater system oversight.
He also worked for various companies in Massachusetts for a number of years and spent eight years in the U.S. Marines as an electronics technician on aircrafts, primarily helicopters.
Voci maintains a relationship with the town of Randolph, providing backup and weekend help in public works. He is state certified in water, sewer, backflow prevention and collection systems.
A resident of Randolph Center, Voci is an outdoorsman who fishes, hunts, maple sugars and snowmobiles. He is married and has two grown daughters, who now live in Florida.
