
Physician assistant Patrick Kearney joins Gifford
RANDOLPH 6/8/07 - Physician assistant Patrick Kearney has joined Gifford Medical Center and its Rochester clinic. Kearney will provide outpatient primary care in both Randolph and to Rochester Health Center patients.
Kearney was previously a physician assistant at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. He received his master’s degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia, his bachelor’s degree from the British School of Osteopathy and pre-medical training at University College in Ireland, where he grew up.
He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and did clinical rotations at hospitals in Virginia, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. He has also previously worked as a certified massage therapist and provided osteopathic services to London’s homeless.
He comes to Gifford for its team approach to providing care and the open communication it has with patients.
“It really has been enriching, working with such great doctors and nurses,” Kearney says. “The teamwork is phenomenal.”
Kearney has found Gifford patients to be knowledgeable about their health and health needs. “The most important thing to me is to keep an open dialogue with patients,” he says.
He also enjoys preventive care, internal medicine and pediatrics.
Kearney lives in Shelburne with his wife, Michelle, who is also a physician assistant, and their two children, Siersha, 3, and William, 1. In his spare time, he fishes, plays golf, reads and gardens.
