          Healthier Living Workshops resume this August at Gifford. Read how these

          workshops helped one local woman, and how they can help you.

          Gifford Medical Center supplies medical personnel and supplies annually to the

          Vermont 100 Mile Endurance Run and Ride to benefit Vermont Adaptive Ski

          and Sports. Click on the link above for a photo gallery of Gifford nurses and

          Heather Burbine of South Royalton, a top student, athlete and leader, was

          awarded the Gifford Medical Staff Scholarship at her high school graduation

          on June 14.

          Phyllis Gosling Greenway is a talented Northfield artist, whose works include

          watercolors, landscapes, plein air, abstracts, drawings and more. See some of 

          her stunning work in the Gifford Gallery.

          Urology provider Nancy Blessing, a certified physician assistant, will give a free

          seminar and screenings on prostate health June 19 at 6 p.m. at the Gifford

          Health Center at Berlin.

          Joan Senecal, commissioner of the Vermont Department of Disabilities, Aging

          and Independent Living, presented Gifford's Menig Extended Care Facility

          nursing home with the Quality Award on Thursday.

          Gifford's Sharon Health Center is a whole lot bigger, and has X-ray technology

          and full-time physical therapy, following an expansion that wraps up at the

          end of the month.

          Registered nurses Pam Fournier and John Young have earned special

          certification in end-of-life care.

          Gifford's Menig Extended Care Facility nursing home has earned a pair of state

          awards recognizing its quality as a caregiver and as an employer.

          Experienced sports medicine provider and family physician Dr. Peter Loescher

          has joined Gifford Medical Center’s popular Sports Medicine Clinic in Sharon.

          He provides non-surgical sports medicine and orthopedic care, and the Sharon

          Health Center now offers X-ray technology.

          Gifford Medical Center clinical nurse educator Andra Perreault receives an

          Excellence in Clinical Education award this week in Killington from the

          Vermont Organization of Nurse Leaders.

          Gifford Medical Center will hold a health fair on April 19 for the area’s

          uninsured. Also invited are those with high insurance deductibles.

          Gifford's professional chefs are once again offering Healthy Cooking Classes.

          Gifford Medical Center podiatrist Dr. Robert Rinaldi of Chelsea has been 

          appointed by Gov. James Douglas to the Board of Medical Practice.

          The Gifford Medical Center Auxiliary answers the hospital's "wish list" with 

          some innovative gifts.

          Bethel photographer Jesse Orr is back in the Gifford Gallery with his new

          "Vermont Windows Show." Join Jesse on April 6 from 3-5 p.m. for a reception.

          Gifford held its 102nd Annual Corporators Meeting on March 1 at Chandler,  

          celebrating its 2007 successes, electing two new trustees and awarding

          scholarships.

          Gifford hospitalist Dr. Martin Johns and lab manager Carol Stephenson have

          been published in The American Journal of Cardiology.

          Pain specialist Dr. Lan Nguyen-Knoff has joined Gifford, marking the opening of

          The Pain Center at Gifford and offering help for chronic pain sufferers.

          Pediatric neurologist Dr. Paul Chervin has joined Dr. Robin Schwartz in Gifford

          Medical Center’s neurology department. Dr. Schwartz is available to treat

          adults with neurological disorders, and now Dr. Chervin brings extensive

          experience in treating children.

          Experienced plastic surgeon Dr. Guy Rochman, who comes with an impressive

          list of credentials, began seeing patients at Gifford Medical Center in

          February.
