RANDOLPH, April 2, 2008 – Gifford Medical Center will hold a health fair on April 19 for the area’s uninsured. Also invited are those with high insurance deductibles.
The fair, to be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the hospital’s Conference Center, will include discussions about Green Mountain Care programs, including the new Catamount Health, as well information on nutrition, diabetes, dental care, heart health, tobacco and alcohol use, women’s health, children’s services and fire safety.
Free screenings for vision, blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and body mass index (weight) will also be offered. All-day presentations will cover such topics as healthy grocery shopping, parenting and menopause.
Light refreshments will be served and raffle drawings will be held throughout the day.
