Ambulatory Care Center

The John P. Gifford Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) is named in memory of John P. Gifford, the nephew of Dr. Gifford who founded the hospital in 1903. The Ambulatory Care Center, located on the hospital’s third floor is adjacent to the surgical suite and minor procedures suites, which include same-day surgery, endoscopy, and minor procedures, as well as patient spaces for admission, recovery and discharge.
Included in the ACC, is the Nancy May Fratkin Oncology Suite and Anticoagulation Clinic. Nancy Fratkin, former President of the Gifford Auxiliary and a long-time hospital volunteer, passed away in 1997 of cancer, and her family chose to honor her memory with a gift that named the new larger space for her.
Gifford’s Anticoagulation Clinic is for physician-referred patients who are being treated with coumadin (blood thinner), following total joint replacement surgery and for such conditions as atrial fibrillation, pulmonary embolism, and deep vein thrombosis.
