John P. Gifford Ambulatory Care Center (ACC)
The John P. Gifford Ambulatory Care Center is located on the hospital’s
third floor.
Adult Day Program
Gifford Medical Center hosts the Adult Day program. The program is a state-approved program for elderly and disabled adults from the White River Valley towns in Gifford's service area.
Advanced Illness Care and The Garden Room
The Garden Room is a private suite for terminally
ill patients and their families in the final stages of
life.
Affordable Care
Gifford Medical Center is pleased to provide health care to all, regardless of insurance status. The medical center additionally works with patients to find financial assistance through its Affordable Care Program, state and federal resources, and no-interest payment plans.
Avon Foundation Breast Care Fund
With the mission of reaching rurally-isolated women with information on the importance of good breast health, Avon awards Gifford grant money. These funds teach women the life-saving benefit of mammograms and clinical breast exams.
Birthing Center
Gifford took the lead in 1977 in changing birthing
from a hospital delivery room to a warm, comfortable
place where a woman could have her family present in an atmosphere of low intervention.
Cardiopulmonary Services
Gifford Medical Center's Cardiopulmonary department
offers state-of-the-art equipment for pediatric and adult
patients.
Chaplaincy
In a program created with the help of area clergy in 2000, Gifford is fortunate to have 20 volunteer chaplains offering spiritual guidance and listening ears to patients in need.
Child Care Center
The Robin's Nest Child Enrichment Center at Gifford provides care, education and nutrition to children ages six weeks to six years in a safe and nurturing setting.
Community Health
Gifford's outreach in the community provides a variety of programs
and services including Tobacco Cessation programs, physicians in the schools and bicycle safety rodeos and more.
Diabetes Clinic
Gifford Medical Center hosts a clinic and support group for patients with diabetes..
Howell Pavilion
The 15-bed medical-surgical unit at Gifford
provides patients with quality care and services.
Infection Control
The Infection Control department at Gifford
Medical Center works to control, reduce and prevent infections.
Laboratory
Gifford Medical Center's laboratory provides services
24-hours a day.
Menig Extended Care Facility
Gifford Medical Center provides an on-campus,
30-bed nursing home for level 1 and level 2 care.
Nuclear Medicine
Nuclear Medicine scans show the function and structure of organs and are used to identify problems that routine X-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans and MRIs are unable to diagnose. GiffordÕs Nuclear Medicine Department commonly offers cardiac and gastric emptying studies and bone, biliary, thyroid, renal, sentinel node, white blood cell and gastrointestinal bleed scans.
Nutrition and Food Services
Services provided by the Nutrition and Food
Services team include medical nutrition for inpatients
and outpatients, meals services for Howell Pavilion,
the Birthing Center, the Menig Facility, the Transitional
Care Unit and visitors.
Pharmacy
Gifford's pharmacy ensures the proper storage,
handling, dispensing and administration of drugs and
biologicals.
Radiology
Gifford’s Radiology Department offers comprehensive diagnostic services, including bone density scans, CT scans, mammography and ultrasounds and X-rays. MRIs are offered through a mobile unit that visits the hospital weekly.
Rehabilitation Services
Gifford offers rehabilitation services for both inpatients and outpatients.
Social Services
Gifford's Social Services Department offers support
to all patients and referrals to appropriate community
support systems.
Surgical Services
Gifford's Surgical Services team perform advanced
and routine surgical procedures.
Vacationers heading overseas need to know the health risks they will face. The Travel Clinic at Gifford provides needed immunizations and advice to international travelers.
