Diabetes Services
Under the direction of diabetes educators, the Diabetes Clinic provides outpatients diabetes education, blood glucose monitoring, nutrition and exercise counseling, and medication and prevention advice, as well as help for special patient needs. Life with Diabetes classes are regularly offered, a Diabetes Support Group meets the first Wednesday of each month from 6-7 p.m. in the hospital Conference Center and a free Diabetes Education Expo is held each November during Diabetes Awareness Month. New at Gifford is an insulin pump program and other up-to-date treatment options from our endocrinologist (a doctor specializing in diabetes care).
