Howell Pavilion
Howell Pavilion, the inpatient unit at Gifford, is for medical-surgical patients, including those who have undergone surgery and non-surgical patients needing hospital care. Gifford is extremely pleased to provide care from a 24-hour a day nursing staff, support staff and a team of hospitalists.
Hospitalists are physicians or allied health professionals who care solely for inpatients. Gifford’s hospitalist team includes a physician dual board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics and two physician assistants. With the addition of a hospitalist program in 2006, Howell Pavilion is able to care for patients who are more acutely ill as well as pediatric patients. The hospitalist program – unique for a hospital of Gifford’s size – means more people can receive quality, comprehensive care close to home.
