Inpatient Care (Hospitalization)

A 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, hospitalists and skilled nursing staff provide 24-hour care to hospitalized patients. Care is provided in two neighboring units, a medical/surgical unit named Howell Pavilion and a Transitional Care Unit for patients needing rehabilitation or sometimes transitioning to a nursing home.

Patients typically needing hospitalized care are:

  • Post surgery

  • Experiencing an acute illness or disease

  • Struggling with a flare-up of a chronic illness

  • Needing rehabilitation

  • At the end of life

End-of-life care is provided in a special suite, the Garden Room, for patients and their families in advanced illness or at the end of life and services for these patients are supported by the hospital’s annual Last Mile Ride.
